Tri Hita Karana is a traditional Balinese concept that focuses on achieving harmony and balance in life through three key relationships. The term itself translates to “three causes of well-being” or “three sources of happiness” in Balinese. These three relationships are:
This philosophy is implemented in various aspects of life, including in the management of Sanur Resort Watujimbar. In order to support the Tri Hita Karana program, our hotel has implemented various activities related to these three aspects, including :
Parahyangan (harmonious relationship between human and God)
In the context of the hotel, the application of Parahyangan includes the absence of scriptures. Efforts to preserve and develop religious traditions in our hotels are also carried out by involving employees in every religious ritual, starting from the process of making facilities, to the end of the ritual, for example Piodalan Pura and Tirta Yatra.
We also have a person in charge of religious activities, namely Jero Mangku Wayan Purna and Jero Mangku Putu Megawati who is in charge of providing offerings for daily prayers, including at Purnama or Tilem, Kajeng Kliwon, such as canang sari, rarapan, incense, lekasan, as well as segehan, in accordance with Hindu religious dresta.
The Parahyangan field is also a pillar of the hotel for us to form a community, called Hindu Committee. This organization covers the fields of Tirtha Yatra and social, dance, music, and operations. In these ways, we ensure that the spiritual values or Tri Hita Karana are always present in every operational work at Sanur Resort Watujimbar.
Pawongan (harmonious relationship between fellow human beings)
As part of our through BumDes Intaran. These contributions support various initiatives, including religious activities, environmental conservations, and other community developments. The hotel also has a donation initiative to help children born with cleft lips. Both our employees and guests have generously contributed to provide these children with the necessary surgeries, treatment, and support they need for a better quality of life. We also pay attention to the guests with disabilities by providing adequate facilities, both in the hotel area (lobby, restaurant), rooms, as well as wheelchair. The hotel actively provides seminars for employees, including those related to First Aid Training, Safety training, as well as training on the application of K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) which is carried out periodically. We also collaborate with other stakeholders, to invite guests to witness Balinese art and culture, such as Balinese dance and gamelan. Through these various activities, the Pawongan field is very well implemented in our hotel.
Palemahan (harmonious relationship between human and the environment)
Sanur Resort Watujimbar focuses on efficient waste management, minimizing waste production. The hotel also ensures good sanitation and hygiene, uses eco-friendly cleaning materials and conserves water and energy. Through SOS (Scholars of Sustainable), we ensure that the food remaining after buffet breakfasts and dinners is redistributed to those in need, helping reduce waste and support our local community. In addition, the hotel maintains flora diversity and has no conflicts with the fauna. The hotel is able to manage B3 (hazardous and toxic materials) waste properly.
By embracing the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, Sanur Resort Watujimbar strives to create a harmonious balance between social, cultural, and environmental responsibilities, from daily operations to large community events.
